The University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) was established in 1958 in Beijing by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and later relocated to Hefei. It is one of the nation's key and most elite research universities. It is a member of the C9 League and the "Double First-Class" initiative, specializing primarily in fundamental sciences and cutting-edge technologies.
USTC's core strengths include fields such as Quantum Physics, Space Sciences (Astrophysics), Computer Science, and Earth Sciences. For international students, besides its Chinese-taught programs, it offers a large number of English-taught programs at the postgraduate level (Master's/PhD). It is widely recognized for producing some of the strongest research outputs in China.
